Daniel Regnitz over at Xbox Raw has posted a well-written editorial detailing the different techs, magics, and races of Shadowrun. He also gives some details on how certain aspects of the game, like its Karma system, work.
In most circumstances a person can only be resurrected once. However, due to the “Karma” feature that is in place, the losing team gets certain advantages. Bodies will take longer to clear, they’ll be able to get resurrected multiple times, get a defense boost, and more.
In addition, he had a few good things to say about his Shadowrun experience.

I’ve had [the Shadowrun Beta] since December, it only has two maps, and I still play it almost every night. ShadowRun has its fangs deep, deep in me.
There’s going to have to be one heck of a manual to this game. I’ve been playing for months and I still don’t understand all of the systems in the game.
Agreed, I was a bit disoriented when first starting out in this game, but quickly caught on. Best thing I found to do when starting out is follow around one of the better players and see what they do. I actually checked what weapon they have, when they bought it, where they first run to, how they fire their weapon.
The training bots proved helpful to me. I tried over and over again to see what combinations could land the most kills, then jumped over to a public match.
But that being said, as soon as you think you have this game nailed down, someone will start out the game with a wicked combination and mess up your routine. I just thought of this, but what keeps a team from giving all of their money to one man at the first round and having him pwn from the start?
Nothing, but it is very risky. If that one player dies, then you have pretty much guaranteed yourselves a loss. Also, it puts the rest of your team at an extreme disadvantage.
While it is can be a good strategy to have one or two people gift money to the rest of the team for teleport or guns, it is usually detrimental to give it all to a single player.
