FASA kept their promise, the beta did end with a bang. At 8:00 p.m. EDT the Shadowrun beta ended — several hours earlier than anticipated, sending waves of confusion through the IRC chat FASA had scheduled.
After the initial shock died down, FASA members continued the festivities by taking more questions from the community. A write-up with a list of announcements made during the IRC chat will be available later.
I must say that this has been the best beta I’ve been a part of. It’s sad to see it end, but it was really fun while it lasted. FASA Studios maintains a very close relationship with the testers, and I feel that my contributions have made a lasting effect on the final product. I hope to see you all after the retail release!

I’ve been really busy with some other stuff lately, so I guess I kind of weaned myself off of it a little early. It’s ashame that the cutoff came so quick and unexpected, though. I’m already missing SR.
I share your thoughts on the beta experience. It was a blast and FASA ran the beta program better than any beta program I’ve been a part of. They made the beta testers feel important.
When does the Shadowrun 2 beta start?
Yeah, I had started to play less over the past few weeks as well. The last couple of days, even though I knew I probably wouldn’t be playing Shadowrun at that moment if I could, the fact that I had the option made everything “OK”. When the beta ended and I no longer had that option, that’s when it started to pull at me.
I share your sentiments.. Had a blast. Can’t wait for the game to come out.
I was actually surprised of the replayability the beta had.. even with only 2 maps. I’m sure we will enjoy the final release for a long time.
