An update went live for the Halo 3 Multiplayer beta a few minutes ago. This is what we saw during the downtime.
The prompt reads:
The Halo 3 Public Beta is either currently unavailable, or has expired. Look out for the official retail release of Halo 3 this fall! If you want to shoot stuff and blast your buddies right now, why not try Shadowrun for Xbox 360 and Windows Vista? Find out more at www.shadowrun.com
Looks like Microsoft wants to steer some of those Halo fanboys towards Shadowrun. Does this mean a Shadowrun demo will hit the Marketplace before the Halo 3 beta ends? Let’s hope so.

Maybe we’ll see more Shadowrun marketing after the HALO 2 update…err…HALO 3 multi-player beta hype dies down. I hope we do. I still know a lot of gamers that are unaware of this game.
I think the game needs some facetime on the XBOX 360 dashboard and Major Nelson’s blog. It also needs to love from the PC gaming sites and IGN needs to take another look at it.
Lots of people don’t know about this game. It’s a very difficult game to describe to someone who’s a fan of FPS’s other than to say it’s like Halo, but with magic as well.
